Mahal Kita Maging Sino Ka Man

Posted in interests, me time, reviews, television on December 17, 2007 by anairam

Yes, it’s back on primetime bida. Book 2.

So far I’m loving the story.

Jackie (Bea Alonzo) and Eli (John Lloyd Cruz) are back. They’re married and are now having some bit of character upgrade. Jackie’s character is getting a more stronger personality and Eli however looked liked he’s laying low.

On Eli: Naku, I love Eli’s old character pa naman, the time na mahirap pa lang siya kasama nina Dadoods. Now kasi he’s like some rich boring old business man and it’s all for the money and the fight to stay at the top. I love his simple ways before. Free, independent, and not restricted by the fame, money and fortune, and some filthy rich wife and family. Dati, no matter how hard the antagonists attack him, some fun free-spirit comes out to face all those problems. At the end of Book 1 and start of Book 2, he’s gotten much serious, nabawasan tuloy ang fun factor. So I hope to see some traces of his old character in Book 2. Sana hindi masyadong maging uptight ang character niya.

On Jackie: Naku this girl naman has the tendency to over act. But I still love her when she doesn’t. So far, what I’m seeing is the same old Jackie, with less tears, which is better. Pero syempre start palang naman so who knows. And yeah, I’m yet to see the stronger side of Jackie.

Pero anyways, I love the love team. Especially the fun, slight comedic twist to it aside from the drama they suppose to bring. “One More Chance” is very nice. I hope to see more from them in the future. Pahabol: I just commend their on-screen chemistry, that despite knowing their involved into different real life partners, on-screen they still deliver the “kilig” factor.

On Celine (played by Anne Curtis): I heard their going to kill her character in Book 2–actually from Book 1 palang daw— anyways, that really is sad. I really admire the fighter in her in Book 1, and now in Book 2 I think they softened her a little bit. Who wouldn’t soften if you know you’re about to die right? And I think her character will be all about faith now (at least it’s what is tagged of her during the promotion) hehe. It just sucks that just when you thought everything is going to be perfect after the storm, as you were about to get married, and is already having a pleasant peaceful life, God has other plans for you like giving you eternal peace. Anyways, I’ll look forward for a twist here. Maybe something like, her getting treatment from afar, with the news that she didn’t made it but she really did, and by that time, JB is already with Toni Gonzaga. Haha.

On JB (played by Sam Milby): I’m not really a fan before, but I learned to appreciate his character towards the end of Book 1. I loved seeing him in simple clothes and he acted better there compared from the time when he was still wearing a suit. Well I can say he improved.

Let me just say that I’m such a sucker for guys who can cry on screen. I so loved Eli for that. And am really attracted to guys in casual attire who cries. haha. When Eli became the suited business man, my attention was drawn from him to Sam who’s moving towards simplicity. Haha. I don’t know, maybe because they seem down-to-earth and reachable.

Take on JB and Celine’s love team: I so loved the intense kissing scene back in Book1! (the time when they were holding back and was pretending to hate each other but when they where coincidentally in the same place at that moment, passed by each other and steps away, decided to look back and run to each other and voila! they kissed with such intensity and passion. When I saw that scene I was really said to myself I’m going to do that in the future. Haha. Or at least be the one being shot in a scene like that. Haha. Sadly I don’t think that’s going to happen in Book 2. It’s like it can never be as intense as that because there is this thought that their relationship is doomed. Hay. I sure do hope there’s a twist. Haha.

On new character Lena (played by Angelica Panganiban): In fairness, I think the “palengkera” character suits her. Or at least she plays it well as of the moment. I can’t help but laugh when it is a scene with her and her mother. I also like her take on the issue. Reminds me of where I stand on some issues. Kasi dito, siya yung type na hindi ipagpipilitan ang sarili nya. Whether on love or on family issue. Her presence on Jackie and Eli’s life was not by choice but is by favor to her mother (who is the scheming one). But probably sooner or later it will be by choice to stay because of some awaited new love triangle that is bound to happen. But as of the moment, fine job on her character.

(more comments on other characters as the story further unfolds… hehe)

My Fictional Self

Posted in dreams, interests, me time, photos, reviews, television on November 20, 2007 by anairam

I’m into blogging again these days, scribbling-scribbling in my little notebook when I’ve got nothing else to do or in between my hectic schedule nowadays. For now I thought of posting some of my favorite fictional and TV series characters from then on till now. I remembered passing by some blog somewhere before on which the author counted down his favorite TV character leading ladies. I was inspired by it and thought why not put into one page some of my faves altogether. And here goes… (not in order of priority).

>>> Sailor Moon (anime) <<<
sailormercury Sailor Mercury/ Ami Mizuno

–> I was about 8-10 years old when Sailor Moon was shown locally here in the Philippines. It was a hit during those times in our school. My friends even bought some CD’s (or was it VHS that time?) of it and have some collectable cards and items of them. I was contented then by the text cards I’ve collected and some paper dolls. My personal favorite was really Sailor Mercury though were quite different in the physical aspect. My hair was jet black and was long and flowy as that of Sailor Mars. Though I’ve associated myself with her personality wise– back in grade school I was the “intelligent” one, always on the top 10 if not the top 1, quite shy but is nice overall.

>>> Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (live action) <<<

Ami Mizuno/ Sailor Mercury/ played by Hama Chisaki

–> Quite surprisingly, there was a live version of Sailor Moon pala. Being a Sailor Mercury fan, instantly she was my favorite in the live version. And I liked how they chose the actors in the live version. Hama-chan was so great in playing my favorite character. And her co-actors even stated in one interview that she was a really good and effective actress.

>>> The Gransazers <<<

Ryoko Anemiya/ Sazer Velsou/ played by Maya Hoshino

I’ve learned about Gransazers from Toonami on Cartoon Network, and figured if CN aired the show, then it must be good. I was also seeing more of Gransazers when it was also aired in I think both Channel 2 and 7, early Sunday mornings i think (pero malamang di sabay pag-air sa both hetworks). Anyways, it’s basically a story of 12 people, who represents the 12 zodiac signs, destined to save the world (from cavities!). First and foremost Ryoko represents Aquarius, which is my sign. And also I think she is the prettiest of all the 4 girls in the series. And being Aquarius, she also represents everything about it, the character, the powers (Aquarius is an air sign) etc. There. Much reasons given.

>>> Encantadia <<<

amihan.jpg Amihan/ played by Iza Calzado

From foreign series to local. Encantadia, I think is still the best fantaserye for me (the original first series before Etheria and Encantadia-Pag-ibig Hanggang Wakas). Why Amihan? Well, aside from liking color blue (which is her theme color), my favorite element is Air (which is her power). Also personality wise, of the 4 sisters, I mostly could associated myself with her being the genuinely nice one- that sometimes her niceness was taken advantage for. And as for the actors, I think Iza has really good, and she really was my favorite among the actresses. And also, I played Amihan’s character during our talent show in school last November 2005, with all the costumes hand made and customized to look like the original but with personal twists. Too bad we didn’t win but it was really fun playing the character. And guess what? Even the kids who were watching our play thought we were the real ones and asked to be taken pictures with them. How cool is that?!

>>> Mighty Morphin Power Rangers <<<

Yellow Ranger/ Trini/ played Thuy Trang

What can I say? Hmm.. This series was aired when I was in Grade 3. I remembered it specifically as me and my classmates decided to do some bit of a role playing in class. As seat mates, we assigned each other the ranger color we will be and voila! I was yellow. That time I have learned to love the character and even every other ranger series (like, Fiveman, Bioman, Maskman) which was aired that time, I have associated myself as the Yellow Ranger. Haha. We even tagged one of my girl classmates as the enemy Rita Repulsa. Hehe.

>>> X-Men <<<

Rogue, real name Marian, is a superhero in the Marvel Comics Ultimate Universe and a member of the Ultimate X-Men.”—

Okay, first of all, according to some site her name was Marian… well no need further explaining, she is me. haha. Aside from that, I really find Rogue’s character really cool, with the ability to fly (in the Marvel series) and able to absorb any power and use it. With proper training, she probably could be the most powerful of them all. ^_^

>>> Magic Knight Rayearth <<<

Umi Ryuuzaki/ Marina (Filipino name given when it was aired in the Philippines)

–> Isn’t is obvious what my favorite color is? Yep true blue. Even though Umi’s element is water, she still is my favorite one in Rayearth. Strong personality, probably something I’ll look forward to having…

>>> Wedding Peach <<<

yuri.jpg Angel Lily/ Yuri Tanima

This was aired in Channel 2 when I was in Grade 6 i think. Yes, my chosen characters tend to have long locks (except for Ami), with a touch of blue in them. I like her character because she is the most conservative, nicest and with a hot love interest in the series. ^_^

(stay tuned for the next post… Marsi and the Villains)… Ciao!

Tuesdays With Anairam

Posted in interests, me time, reviews, thoughts on August 28, 2007 by anairam

Yey. I’m back. I somehow managed to find the nearest net shop, because the virus in my PC (i think) somehow blocked me from accessing the world wide web. Wah.

Anyways, update. I’m still unemployed, currently waiting for 2 jobs to call me back, (and I hope they do. ASAP.) so I can apply to another if they don’t want me there (Err. What’s taking them so long anyway?). I just don’t want to apply here and there, what if they all contacted me, and I don’t know how to turn down a job opportunity. What if I wanted to work with these others in the near future? Would they take me with the record of turning them down before? Hay. Rivers of thoughts. It’s so hard to wait, I hope they respond soon. Pray for me.

Just found out today that my former “friends” already had their own share of first jobs. Lucky them. I had been busy for the past weeks editing my resume, inquiring on hospitals, clinics etc., applying to other jobs etc. and here I am still unemployed. I am probably the 3rd of the 3 persons out of the 25 who is still not working. Yeah, I think. 22 of us who became PTRP’s weeks ago were either already working, both on field and non-field related, others were just waiting to start but something is already in store for them. Of us 3, 2 were top notchers. Some fate. But I don’t really get all discouraged. I know there is still hope. For me. I hope.

Topic change.

I finished 2 books today. Yeah. One is “Sheila Levine is Dead, And Living in New York”. The start was fun but the end was a bit disappointing. I dunno. I somehow found something in common with me and the character, at the beginning that is, but her character gets so naughty, complicated and pretty unreasonable towards the end. I don’t think I can’t handle those things that she was able to undergo. So liberated. I hope I don’t suffer the same fate when I get to New York in the near future. Hopefully. Hehe.

(I don’t like net shops so much. Some pesky kids. Singing, shouting, talking aloud. Grade school? High school kids? But I know I have to deal with these things. It’s part of growing up. My growing up. Hihi.)

And I somehow managed to end the first book and start and finish “Tuesdays with Morrie” all in 4 hours. And I thought I’m a slow reader. Maybe depends on the book. Depends on my interest level for the day. I’m actually not a bookworm. Probably read less than 20 books (not including textbooks of course), in my whole 21 years. And I read because it’s either required (on a subject, with a written report afterwards), it’s in (but I never had read any HP and LOTR series), or if I luckily have built a certain interest over it. At least that’s some progress. Reading to tone down the feeling of waiting over work.
Anyways back to Morrie again, tears were falling, and I was just at the 3rd chapter, I think. I didn’t know where all those came from. But I love crying sometimes, over a film, with all the sympathy in the world for the characters; it’s my first time over a book. Hay.

I hope I can find a coach as that of Morrie. Mitch refers to him as such. Tears just kept flowing towards the end. Sabi nga ng kapatid ko, kapag di daw ako umiyak, di ako tao. Haha. At least. Tao pala ako. Di ko ma-explain, sa susunod na lang. Isang oras nako dito. Alam nyo na yan. Ako na nga lang ata ang di nakakabasa nito. At least ngayon nabasa ko na. Wahaha.

(Err. Pesky kids annoy me they just don’t know they do.
Gay kids. At such an early age. Tsk tsk. Nothing against gays by the way. I have my own share of gay friends. I just hate them today. PDA. Urgh. Sorry kids. It’s my first day today. Yep. Period. I hope I don’t get any red stains. Hehe.)

Yes. Today is Tuesday.

One Tree Hill

Posted in interests, reviews, television, thoughts on August 10, 2007 by anairam

Woah, I am doing a TV show review now? Wahaha. Wow, this is something. And imagine I thought paper reviews they want us to pass in our English subjects in school before sucks. And now I’m doing it without any grade to look forward to…

Hours after watching some episodes from Season 3, I found myself looking forward to be watching more of this series (add it to my collection of want-to-watch DVDs). I am liking it not just for it’s stars (although it is a show full of beautiful people) but more of its story, lots of twists on every character, with life’s lessons presented on every episode. Story was about teens, in high school, (they are just 17 but I feel they were way more mature than me) and for such young ages, their lives involved lots of challenges and every character shows different approaches to certain life situations. Plus it has a good soundtrack (my kind of music). Anyway, among its characters, Peyton (it is spelled that way on the DVD) particularly was my favorite, I don’t know but for some reason I got a certain eye on her story (yes, she’s a girl). It’s not that we shared some same experiences; it’s not as if my life is as complicated as hers. From the episodes I saw, I realized that how good of a daughter and a best friend she was. And maybe I like her character because she was the least bitchy of all the girls there. And given their situations, maybe she was the most I see myself of becoming when faced with such deals. For one, she was involved in a love triangle with her best friend and previous special someone (played by Chad Michael Murray) who is currently involved with her best friend. She tries her best to move on, had had her share of some other special someone (even an encounter with a famous rock star) but her feelings for the boy kept floating through. There was this time when there was a deranged kid at school who brought a gun with him and she was shot, Chad came to her rescue, she was losing much blood, and she thought she was dying. And with that situation, something just came out and she asked him, “If I tell you I love you right now, would you kiss me?” something like that. Chad kissed him but stated after that, “You know this kiss means nothing as I am very much in love with your best friend right now”. It was a romantic, but ouch moment, and although I know it wasn’t right as Chad was now with her best friend, my sympathy was still with her. It was the only chance she got again with him and I admire her courage that time and after when it was all over. And just when she thought she was over him, was away to pursue another guy and proposed to him, her feelings for Chad just slipped out and she murmured his name with “I love you” in her sleep. She went back and after hiding her feelings from everybody, she just had some courage to be honest to her best friend that she may still have feelings for Chad, but has no plans on pursuing it.

Bottom line, I love the courage and honesty of her character, the way she handles herself in some of her love problems and I just wish I had that some personality in me so I may be able to tell people how much I love them before they are gone. And that I can handle rejection the way she does so I can learn how to be a strong person inside and out. I just feel that sometimes I see things the ideal way that I hate to try things that I am unsure of. Fearing of failure, criticisms and rejection. Afraid of trying. Is there a term for that? As they say, “Try and try until you succeed”. Maybe I could start by living up with that motto, with the motivation that I have to try things as I don’t want to regret not knowing what might have been if I didn’t. As I still making sense here? Hay. Wahaha. Cheesy.

(Just finished watching Season 4, and yeah, he got the boy..)

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon

Posted in interests, photos, reviews, television on July 30, 2007 by anairam

I was browsing and found this 2nd entry of mine last March 2006 on my Friendster blog. Well, I want to share the entry here so here it is.

Hay…just two weeks ago, i was surfing the net about one of my favorite characters in cartoon network toonami (Gransazers), when i encountered another blog site with one of its posts talking about certain actresses which played the roles of the sailor soldiers..curious, i clicked on the link and i found myself on the Pretty Guardian Sailormoon- Live Action series fansite! It was aired in japan sometime 2003-2004.

Hehe..I was an avid fan of sailor moon way way back in gradeschool, i even used to collect paper dolls and cards and compiled them on a folder..(pero ngayon di ko na alam kung asan yun..huhu) Wala lang, naaliw lang ako na may live action series pala yun…, meaning, real live japanese girls as sailor soldiers..

Same color (pero dito, their hair colors change only when they transform to sailor soldiers, pag normal na tao sila, black haired sila)… The story was based on the cartoon series, pero madami ding iniba from the original story (e.g. may Dark Mercury, Sailor Venus is a popstar etc.). At first i found it corny na ginawa syang live pero hours after seeing the screencaps and reading the story…hehe..syempre naappreciate ko na sya.. (di naman ako masyadong nagsasabata nito no?) Pretty pa yung mga girls na gumanap, at syempre magiging dark pa si Sailor Mercury(na favorite ko!) Wala lang ulit.. Sana maipalabas sya sa cartoon network(teka baka naman naipalabas na sya?) I was looking forward to watch all episodes (50 episodes at may 2 special acts) Sana, kaya maghahanap ako sa quiapo sa summer..hehe… or baka meron kayo jan..pahiram naman! yeye..

So, announcing, for those who might have the series or who would consider downloading it for me, for a price of course, hehe. (Yeah, I think it is downloadable, I just can’t figure it out myself and with the help of my super advanced PC!- sarcastic), I would be really, really grateful! . I am talking to those who happen to dropped by on this blog of course. Again, the title is Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (they refer it on some websites as PGSM). Anyone interested please leave a comment (Thinking and hoping somebody would really acknowledge this, well it’s worth the try). Thanks in advance! Haha.

my fave character

Care to figure out who’s who?
